Microbial Communication via Pyrazine Signaling: a New Class of Signaling Molecules Identified in Vibrio cholerae

چکیده
Quorum sensing is a microbial signaling process that relies on the production, release, and response to extracellular molecules called autoinducers. This Review covers quorum-sensing systems controlled by pyrazine-type autoinducer, 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazin-2-ol (DPO). The we cover span human pathogen Vibrio cholerae, where DPO regulates pathogenicity biofilm formation, phage VP882, controls lytic development viral dissemination. In both cases, detection of occurs via dedicated receptor-transcription factor VqmA. V. activates production VqmR regulatory RNA, in phage, triggers small protein Qtip. We present our current understanding biosynthesis, ongoing efforts resolve mechanisms underlying DPO-mediated signal transduction, forward-facing perspective role health undiscovered pyrazine-based signals biology, more broadly.

I t is becoming increasingly evident that the inflammatory oxidants reactive oxygen species (ROS), reactive nitrogen species (RNS), and reactive halogen species (RHS) mediate diverse pathologic processes in cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurodegenerative diseases (1, 2). RNS (peroxynitrite, nitrogen-dioxide radical, or nitronium ion) are formed from the rapid reaction between ROS (superoxide) ...

Objective(s): To explore whether endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress regulates inflammation in adipose tissue of obese rats via TLR4 signaling. Materials and Methods: Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups, and body weight, food intake, and free fatty acids (FFA) were measured. Real-time PCR and Western blot were used to determine mRNA or protein expression of TLR4, TRAF6, IKK...
متن کاملMolecular Signaling in Tumorigenesis of Gastric Cancer
Gastric cancer (GC) is regarded as the fifth most common cancer and the third cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Mechanism of GC pathogenesis is still unclear and relies on multiple factors, including environmental and genetic characteristics. One of the most important environmental factors of GC occurrence is infection with Helicobacter pylori that is classified as class one carcinogens...
متن کاملNanocurcumin-Mediated Down-Regulation of Telomerase Via Stimulating TGFβ1 Signaling Pathway in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells
Background: Curcumin, extracted from turmeric, represents enormous potential to serve as an anticancer agent. Telomerase is viewed as a prominent molecular target of curcumin, and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGFβ1) has proven to be a major inhibitory signaling pathway for telomerase activity. In the current study, we aimed to explore suppressive effects of nanocurcumin on telomeras...
